アーサー・フットは「第二次ニューイングランド楽派」の作曲家の一人。主に室内楽の作曲家として知られています。彼はヨーロッパで学んだ経験がなく、全ての音楽教育をアメリカで受けています。23歳の時にバイロイトを訪れワーグナー作品を聴いたという記録もあります。しかしそれに影響されることはなく、どちらかというとブラームスに似た作風を有しています。この3枚組はフットの全てのピアノ曲を収録したもので、フットの知られざる面に光をあてる貴重なものとなります。
