On this very enjoyable Stomp Off CD, the Jim Cullum Jazz band performs 14 Jelly Roll Morton compositions plus one song ("The Chant") associated with the innovative pianist-composer-bandleader. Cullum, a hot cornetist with a frequently exciting style, is heard in top form jamming through the classic numbers with his regular septet, a group also starring clarinetist Allan Vache, trombonist Mike Pittsley and pianist John Sheridan.
