Eloise Laws' two 1980s albums are combined on this 2013 release from the U.K.'s Expansion label. Neither album fared well commercially, but they're notable for serious fans of early-'80s R&B. Eloise Laws, released on Liberty in 1980, involves Linda Creed and Thom Bell on all but one cut. That one cut -- "Almost All the Way to Love" -- was produced by Eloise's brother Ronnie with Earth, Wind & Fire's Larry Dunn on synthesizer and Nathan East on bass. All in Time, a Capitol release from 1982, involves even more of the Laws family -- not just Ronnie but Hubert and Debra as well. It's not quite as enjoyable as the self-titled album, but Expansion was wise to put both neglected sets in circulation at once. ~ Andy Kellman
