Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros (ESMZ) は、Mumford & Sonsのレーベル=Gentlemen of the Roadが送り出す、最初のバンド(マムフォード自身は除く)。この2バンドの関係は2011年のRailroad Revival Tourなどのツアーの中で熟成された。この模様はエメット・マロイの監督により、映像作品『Big Easy Express』として表現され、グラミー賞のBest Long Form Music Video としての受賞も果たしている。今年になってからもESMZは、ロンドンのQueen Elizabeth Olympic Park 公演を含む、Mumford & Sonsの多くの公演にサポート・アクトとして出演している。ESMZは、2007年に Alex Ebert とJade Castrinosを中心にロサンゼルスで結成された10人組のバンド(メンバーはその後入れ替わり等もあり現在は11人との情報もある)。2009年のデビュー作『Up From Below』を発表。2012年にリリースされたセカンド・アルバム『Here』は、全米チャート初登場5位を記録し、瞬く間にフォーク・ロック・シーンの大注目を集めることになった。今作は、大ヒットした前作から約1年でリリースされる3rd アルバム!
