Tommy Makem and Liam Clancy, two of the founding members of the world renowned group The Clancy Brothers with Tommy Makem, delivered the richness and depth of Irish culture to Americans of all backgrounds. Thankfully, after the group broke up to pursue solo projects, Tommy and Liam reunited and resumed their role as tireless troubadours dedicated to this traditional musical genre.
Makem and Clancy's fine balance of old favorites and exciting new material is reflected on WE'VE COME A LONG WAY. This album charms the listener with song, story, honest emotion, and good humor. Highlights include the subtle ballad "Roseville Fair," and the lush waltz "The Queen of Connemara." However, the most compelling song on this album is a powerful march, "The Mary Ellen Carter," a sentimental song about a legendary ship.
録音 : ステレオ (Studio)
