Like Frank Christian, Jack Hardy, and others, Eberhardt spent the '80s making a name for himself as one of the finest singer-songwriters to graduate from the Greenwich Village school, without ever achieving a commercial breakthrough. That didn't stop him from delivering untold numbers of riveting performances, and recording memorable albums featuring his heartfelt, carefully crafted songs. Eberhardt's gritty, soulful voice mixes well with his introspective, self-critical lyrics, rootsy musical sensibilities and impassioned delivery. Whether carrying a torch on "Motel Room Dreams" and "I Thought That You Should Know" or delivering a message of faith and community on "Not Alone In This World," Eberhardt is consistently convincing.
