This is more laid-back than gonzo, but it's still a highly diverting set of holiday standards. Some of the songs are done Western swing style, which works particularly well on "Jingle Bells." But with the exception of a medley of "Here Comes Santa Claus/Up on the Rooftop", which gets a nice Bo Diddley treatment, and what must be the most overtly rocked-out version of "Jingle Bell Rock" ever recorded, just about everything else is done as straight pop, with Walker practically crooning. Walker's son Django provides guest vocals on "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" (he doesn't actually sing, but gets into the spirit nevertheless).
