The Days Run Away is the second release from English indie rock outfit Frankie & the Heartstrings. After their critically acclaimed debut, Hunger, the band released a standalone single, "Everybody Looks Better (In the Red Light)," in collaboration with Suede guitarist and producer Bernard Butler. Their relationship blossomed and the four-piece invited Butler to work with them again here, and with his guidance they have honed their catchy guitar hooks and pop-influenced vocals.|

バーナード・バトラーをプロデューサーに迎え、2年ぶり2枚目のアルバムが到着。エドウィン・コリンズが手掛けた前作みたいに親しみやすくてポップな出来だけど、今回はガッツがあり、芯の強さが増している印象を受けたのは、活動拠点であるイングランド北部の小さな街での生活をテーマに掲げたからか。例えばデキシーズ・ミッドナイト・ランナーズのようなUK庶民派ロックの系譜を感じさせる。
