Three Loco EP

With the unholy trinity of Riff Raff (over the top and an overly confident horndog), Dag Nasty (former porno star and former MTV VJ), and Andy Milonakis (strange baby-faced comedian and even stranger baby-faced rapper) comprising the group, hip-hop cretin collective Three Loco would be your mother's worst nightmare, that's if it was even possible that sweet old lady could dream of something so sick and twisted. Speaking of that revered matriarch, Milonakis threatens to jump on top of moms throughout the album, offering the ultimate Three Loco boast at one point with "I got an iPad and your momma sucks my d*ck," but it's Riff Raff who, knowingly or unknowingly, gives the group its slight sliver of charm, mentioning at one point that he's at the hotel with a mountain of blow, and after a pregnant pause, that he's "all alone" (what a stud!). Landing on Diplo's label Mad Decent, the (hopefully) ironic album is still keenly aware of what's poppin' in 2013 as the music is built from crunk beats ("We Are Llamas" is Ying Yang Twins stuff with Milonakis threatening to attack your back stock of fish food with his dildo), trap music ("Bong Hits" grinds the bass while Riff offers "I don't want your daughter, she look like Steve Atwater"), and even dance-pop (on "Not Coming Home Tonight," you'll think it's will.i.am, but that's Dirt singing the triumphant "I'm gonna get another D.U.I., but I'm sorry fat ass, this my life"). The whole thing comes off like the kindergarten class took over the red-light district, but it is filled with plenty of avant porno quotables you won't find anywhere else, plus the beats are as marvelous as the debauchery is dumb. Flush your karma down the toilet, get crass, and let the Three Loco party begin; just make sure to hide the fish food from that rat bastard Milonakis. ~ David Jeffries|
