Buck Owens, Roy Clark, Grandpa Jones, and Kenny Price may have played it for laughs on TV's Hee Haw, but when it was sacred time on the show, they dropped the corn and came across with some old-time gospel singing that hearkened back to each of their country-boy roots. Produced by Jerry Kennedy (who also plays guitar and dobro on here), this features Nashville A-teamers like Charlie McCoy and Hargus "Pig" Robbins in the lineup. Highlights include old standards like "Shall We Gather at the River," "Dust on the Bible," "Where Could I Go But to the Lord," "Just Over In Glory Land," and the obligatory "Amazing Grace." Note: on three of the tracks Joe Babcock replaces Owens, and on "In the Garden," Ray Burdette stands in for Kenny Price. ~ Cub Koda
