世界初録音! マルタンが描くシンデレラ物語!
歌付きバレエ「アシェンブレーデルの物語」

スイスの作曲家、フランク・マルタン(1890 - 1974)の作品はまだまだ埋もれていますが、あらたに声楽付きバレエという大作がCD になりました。「アシェンブレーデルの物語」は、1942 年3 月12 日にバーゼル市立劇場で初演された作品。アシェンブレーデル Aschenbrödel とは灰かぶり姫を意味し、つまりはシンデレラ(英語 Cinderella)のこと。ただしこのバレエは、有名なペローの「シンデレラ(サンドリヨン Cendrillon)」ではなく、同じ説話に基づいたグリム兄弟の童話を原作にしており、一般的に知られているシンデレラ物語とはいくらか相違があります。第二次世界大戦中に初演されたこの作品は大きな成功を収めたものの、その後長いこと埋もれていました。マルタンらしい近代的な響きに彩られた童話は、子供も大人も楽しめるものです。
アシェンブレーデルのクレメンス・ティルカンは、もともとチェロでソリストを目指していたものの、美声からソプラノに転向したという人。バロックの声楽作品を得意としているほか、オペラでも幅広く活躍しています。王子のダヴィド・エルナンデス・アンフルンスは、1982 年、バルセロナ生まれのテノール。やはりバロックを得意とする人です。継母のヴァルドゥイ・ハチャトリアンは、アルメニアの首都エレバンの生まれ。1996 年にデビューし、しばらくエレバンで活躍していましたが、近年ではイタリアやフランスでの活動が増えています。ガーボル・タカーチ=ナジは、1956 年、ブダペスト生まれの指揮者。かつてタカーチ四重奏団の第1 ヴァイオリニストだったことでも知られています。

　このＣＤのおかげで、今まで聞いたことが無かったマルタンの珍しい作品を知ることが出来ました。バレエとオペラのミックスされたような変わった曲で、題材にもよるのですが、マルタンの作品の中ではわかりやすいものになっています。オーケストラの中では２本のサキソフォンが大活躍、３幕の姉妹たちの入場のシーンではグリッサンド奏法を面白く使用していてとても楽しめました。
