★20年以上にわたって音楽ジャンルの垣根を越えた幅広く活躍しているギタリスト、オリヴィエ・メッラーノが、naiveレーベルより2ndアルバムとなるクラシックの新譜をリリースいたします! 舞台音楽やポップス、ロック音楽界での活動が多く知られるメッラーノですが、実はアルヴォ・ペルトやギャヴィン・ブライアースを敬愛し、クラシック現代にも精通した作曲家でもあります。

★新たな音楽表現の開拓に余念がないメッラーノが今回発表したのは、ある1つの主題を3つの異なる演奏形態で表現した意欲的な連作。「見えないもの、さらには永遠を抱くものを見せるために、我々はいかにして新しい音を試みたか」という題のもと、クラシック・バージョン、ギター・バージョン、ヒップホップ・バージョンという3つの演奏が収録されています。クラシック・バージョンでは、ソプラノにヴァレリー・ガバイルを採用。ジャズ・ヴォーカルとしてデビューした後、その歌声がミンコフスキの目にとまり、レ・ザール・フロリサンやレ・タラン・リリクなどでも活躍する名手です。現代音楽と古楽を融合したペルトを敬愛するメッラーノの作品を表現するにはまさに適役といえましょう!

★今回の音楽作品について、「音楽の神秘と、そこから生まれるイルミネーションについての戦士の詩です。そしてまた、自らの誕生を賛美し、創造のプロセスを隠喩した旅でもあるのです。」と語ったメッラーノ。いずれも4楽章からなり、用いられている歌詞のテクストもほぼ共通しています。主題が共通する分、それぞれのバージョンが持つ表現の魅力がより際立って感じられましょう。本アルバムに収録されている映像作品「我々がいかにして新たな光の組み合わせを試みたか」では、彼が語る「旅」が強く感じられます。神秘的なクラシック・バージョンの音楽に合わせ、照明効果を果敢に駆使した斬新な演出は魅力的。
