Southern rapper Young Bleed is driven by the same concerns as many other hip-hop artists: urban violence, the tyranny of the ghetto, and racial injustice. What sets him apart from the pack is the way he approaches those topics. A good example is the opening cut "Bless em' All," a song that catalogues the difficulties facing Young Bleed and his peers, but exhorts black people to "wake up" and "live" instead of grinding down into a self-defeating cul-de-sac. Young Bleed has a way with sonic settings as well, moving deftly from lush strings to sinuous G-funk and techno-friendly breakbeats. Most importantly, he understands the value of subtlety, delivering most of his rhymes in an effective low-key style that avoids strident overstatement in favor of deadpan insinuation.
録音 : ステレオ (Studio)
