Those hip-hop kings at No Limit have done it again, WISE GUYS plays on the Mafia theme with eighteen tracks of pure southern flavor. Ghetto Commission members G-Spade, Valerio, Deuce Holloway and Doleau are joined by label mates Master P, Silkk the Shocker, C-Murder, Fiend, Miz X, Mac and Magic. As usual the tracks are handled by the Beats By The Pound crew including KLC, Carlos Stephens, Craig B. and O'Dell.
One of the most interesting tracks on the album is "I'm A Soulja." Featuring Master P and Mystikal, the arrangement incorporates a hook from the Bon Jovi song "Wanted Dead Or Alive" and makes it work. Other tracks that stand out are "Get 'Em Up," an uptempo head-nodder with appearances from Fiend and Prime Suspects, "Trying To Change," which features Silkk The Shocker and uses a clever Keith Sweat sample, and "Thug Luv," where the Commission samples Whodini's classic "One Love."
