ニューオーリンズ・ソウル/R&Bのドン、アラン・トゥーサン。本作は2009年秋、ニューヨークのJoes' Pubでのパフォーマンスを録音したライヴ・アルバム。トゥーサンが作曲した名曲の数々を取り上げた、ソング・ブック的内容のライヴで、指揮&プロデュースはトゥーサンの長年の友人であるPaul Siegelが担当。こちらは、2009年9月にJoe's Pubで行われた初出のライヴ映像とスタジオ・インタビュー映像(25分)を収録したDVDを加えたデラックス盤。

ニューオーリンズのマエストロによる新作は、2009年にNYで行った弾き語りライヴを収めたもの。セットリストにはアーマ・トーマスの“ It'sRaining”など自身の手掛けたヒット曲を並べ、個性的な旋律を華麗かつ自由闊達なピアノ演奏&ヴォーカルで披露していく御大が、カッコ良すぎて全然聴き飽きない。13分に及ぶ終幕の“Southern Night”まで、誰にも真似できない世界が展開する素晴らしき実況録音盤。
