ロンドンを拠点に活躍するブラジル出身のピアニスト、クレーリア・イルスン。彼女はリオ・デ・ジャネイロ音楽学校で学んだのち、ネルソン・フレイエやジャック・クライン、スティーブン・コヴァセヴィッチらに師事、数多くのコンクール受賞歴を持つだけでなく、南米作曲家の作品を中心に幅広いレパートリーを持つピアニストです。
このアルバムで彼女は「歌と踊り」から第1番～第6番(残り7曲は第2集で演奏)と、「ペセブレ」、「内なる印象」、「ショパンの主題による変奏曲」を含むモンポウの代表作を演奏、なかでも「内なる印象」では作品の持つ内省的な雰囲気を入念に伝えています。
