前作のヒットで根強い人気ぶりを改めて印象付けたトレインの新作は、アコースティックな質感を活かす一方で、より大胆な曲作りにもアプローチ。オルタナでもクラシック・ロックでもない現行アメリカン・ロックの代表格が演奏するラテン・ナンバーには驚かされる。が、複数の外部ライターを迎えた、ヴォーカリストであるパット・モナハンの実質的にはソロ・アルバムと考えれば、この変化にも納得か。
