Crimson's 2012 two-fer pairs 1992's Ridin' High with 1994's Honey, two records that found Robert Palmer stretching out just a little bit. Ridin' High finds Palmer tackling the Great American Songbook long before Rod Stewart thought of it; on Honey, he returns to the Riptide blueprint, but doesn't rock quite so hard and ups the ante on the slick, glossy surface. Bonus tracks are added to Honey -- an edit and remix of "You Blow Me Away," a remix of "Know by Now," and the non-LP "In the Stars" -- but this is primarily valuable as an easy way to get two imperfect but ingratiating albums from a master of blue-eyed soul. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
