シェーン・マッゴーワン(vo)とスパイダー(vo, tin whitsle)を中心に1982年に英ロンドンで結成。アコーディオン、ティン・ホイッスルの音色を前面に出したアイリッシュ・トラッド・ミュージックの編成でエネルギッシュなパンク・サウンドを生み出した個性派バンド、ザ・ポーグスがその活動最初期に仏パリのオリンピアで行った伝説のパフォーマンスを記録したライヴ・アルバムが、最新リマスターとボーナス・コンテンツを多数収録したライヴ2枚組CD。跳ねるドラム、躍動するアコーディオン、メランコリックなバンジョーの音色、エネルギッシュなアティテュード、場末のやさぐれ感、そしてとことん切ないメロディがいっしょくたになって爆発したかのような、彼らしか出せない音がここにある。その世界的なブレイクのきっかけになったエルヴィス・コステロ・プロデュース作品『Rum Sodomy & the Lash』(1985)、全英3位を記録したスティーヴ・リリーホワイト・プロデュース作品『If I Should Fall from Grace with God』(1988)他の大ヒット・アルバムやシングルで後に発表される「If I should fall from Grace with God」、「Fiesta」、「Fairytale of NY」、「Dirty old town」、「The Irish rover」といった名曲の数々を収録。こちらは同ライヴのDVD、さらに貴重映像をプラスした限定4枚組エディション。

こちらの商品は、2012年9月のパリでのライブです。DVDは日本のDVDプレイヤーで再生可能。ポーグスは、パブリックイメージが強く、いい噂は聞きませんが、ポーグスの大ファンとしては、そのパブリックイメージなんて信じるな！と大声で言いたい。ただの酔っ払いバンドだけで済まされないと、この作品が証明してくれる。ファンならマスト！一人でも多くの人にポーグスの音楽の素晴らしさを。
