The first 10 tracks on IN PERSON!!! were recorded for a live radio broadcast on WSAN, San Francisco, California, during the final week of shows at the Fillmore West in 1971. Recorded live at the Fillmore West, San Francisco, California on June 30, 1971 and the Matrix, San Francisco, California in 1970. Includes liner notes by Miriam Linna. In their native U.S., the Flamin' Groovies achieved cult status at best, but in England they would have been hailed as pub-rock pioneers. This 1971 live recording shows the band in all their gritty, garage-minted glory, covering the classics of blues ("I'm a Man"), R&B ("Walkin' the Dog"), and early rock & roll ("Sweet Little Rock 'n' Roller"), as well as delivering their own roots-rocking gems ("Teenage Head"). Recorded just before frontman Roy Loney departed, IN PERSON is a snapshot of the Groovies in their prime.
