Sans Attendre ("Without Waiting") is the twelfth French-language album from the colossally-successful Canadian pop diva, and her first in five years. On it, she collaborates with a number of high-profile francophone artists including Johnny Hallyday, Jean-Pierre Ferland and Maxime le Forestier. Co-produced by David Gategno and Céline's longtime collaborator Jacques Veneruso, the album is somewhat more tastefully restrained than her English works, in keeping with most of her French oeuvre. The digital single "Parler à Mon Père" ("Talk to My Father"), included here, has a faintly Andalusian sound.|

3年間のレジデンス・ショウのため、ふたたびラスヴェガスに舞い戻ったセリーヌ・ディオン姐さんのネクスト・ムーヴは、2007年の『De'elles』以来となるフランス語アルバム『Sans Attendre』だ。気心の知れた作家/プロデューサーらと制作したこの新作には、軽いタッチのスロウ～ミディアムが並んでおり、子供たちのコーラスをバックにした優しい曲から、シリアスな題材を取り上げたダークなもの、60年代のフレンチ・ポップ風まで驚くほどヴァラエティー豊か。なかでも特筆すべきは大御所シンガーたちとの共演で、ダイナミックなジョニー・アリデイ、演劇タッチのジャン・ピエール・フェルラン、さらには故アンリ・サルヴァドールも最新技術で蘇らせている。全体的には控えめの歌唱が印象的だが、聴くほどに味わい深く、色彩に例えるなら白だろうか。フレンチ・ポップのエスプリ感にくすぐられる。同時期にリリースされた、デヴィッド・フォスター絡みの曲ばかりを集めたベスト盤『The BestOf Celine Dion & David Foster』と聴き比べてみるのもまた一興かと。
