This 2012 release from the Expansion label combines the two albums by Kinsman Dazz, recorded before the Cleveland soul/funk band shortened their name to Dazz. Kinsman Dazz (1978) and Dazz (1979), both of which were originally released on the 20th Century label, are simply compiled here with no bonus cuts. Though both albums technically charted, neither release made much of a commercial impact. That said, they're both enjoyable and well-rounded sets, enhanced by production and arrangement support from Earth, Wind & Fire's Philip Bailey (who was more involved in the debut than in the latter), with the likes of Patrice Rushen and Gene Page also on board. ~ Andy Kellman
