So consolidated Gabriel's reputation as an original and exciting composer, capable of projecting sophisticated lyrics on accessible melodies. 'Sledgehammer' was a massive hit (number one in the USA), as was 'Don't Give Up', with Kate Bush's vocals adding extra pathos. 'This Is The Picture' clearly shows the slightly surreal influence of co-writer Laurie Anderson, and the whole is given flight by Daniel Lanois' impeccable production. The towering achievement, however, is 'Mercy Street', a sparely orchestrated and perfectly constructed tribute to the late poet Anne Sexton.|

So 25周年記念エディション スペシャル・エディション＜生産限定盤＞｜CDアルバム
日本盤高すぎ、2000円違えば輸入盤買うわ。オリジナル収録曲に関してはDVD VIDEOの5.1mixがかなり楽しめたので期待は無し。問題はライブ盤、音源はP0Vと同一だろうが、この時のIN YOUR EYESは、ンドゥールがゲストでマニュカチェのドラム共々最高の演奏。またもIN your eyesの名作シングルバージョンのCD化は無視されてアナログ親父は悔しい。何はともあれ青春の名盤。
