Sorrow is Born," both a wry play on the band's name and an homage to the kind of psyche-delicate garage-rocking that infuses leader Barbara Manning's songs and cover choices. Tuneful but just slightly off-kilter, the band has the wobbly chutzpah to put across complex songs with the spirited air of teenagers picking up their instruments for the first time.
