Twin Shadow's George Lewis Jr. steps out of the bedroom and into the spotlight with his second album, Confess, which gives the dreamy atmospheres of his debut, Forget, a bigger, glossier sound. Songs such as the single "Five Seconds" take Twin Shadow further away from the chillwave label applied to Lewis' music in the early days and closer to a new wave/new romantic sound that, strangely, sounds more modern than Forget's drifting pop. This newfound urgency may be due to Lewis rediscovering his love for riding his motorcycle, something he avoided for years after an accident, during the recording of Confess.

海外メディアを中心に高い評価を得た前作より2年ぶり、ドミニカ生まれのダンディーなエレポッパーが引き続き4ADよりセカンド・アルバムを発表。伸びやかでロマンティックなシンセ音や、デヴィット・ボウイを意識しまくった(!?)センティメンタルなヴォーカルはそのままに、ギターのカッティング&スネアの音がグンとクリアになり、いっそう80s臭を強めています。ジャケも含め、カッコつけすぎでしょ!
