A silver screen adaptation of a Broadway show that turned MTV metal into a musical, the original soundtrack to Rock of Ages feels like a faded photocopy, deriving its glittery sparkle from a star-studded cast fronted by Tom Cruise. Cruise's lack of connection with rock & roll -- particularly the gutbucket L.A. sleaze variety -- doesn't matter because Rock of Ages is for people who like to dress up and play pretend. Now that the hair metal glory days are firmly in the past -- and no longer carry any sense of sexual danger -- it's totally fine to wear a feather boa and sing along with these songs. ロック・オブ・エイジズ オリジナル・サウンドトラック＜期間生産限定盤＞｜CDアルバム
こいつはいいサントラです。サントラCDで☆が７つあったら７ですね。よくあるHR/HMのバンドを使用した映画音楽(ex:ショッカー。ラスト・アクション・ヒーロー等)は、当の本物が全て演奏しているものを入れていて、その音源欲しさに購入すかもしれません。しかし、このCDは８０年代のヒットを飛ばしたバンドの音源を映画に出た俳優がそのままカヴァーして歌っているのでそこいらのサントラとは違う。＃１のっけからGN’Rの「パラダイス・シティ」をトム・クルーズが歌唱。あの独特なアクセルの爬虫類的なVo.も見事に歌いこなしていて爽快。その他にも、ナイト・レンジャー、ジャーニー、ポイズン、デイヴ・リー・ロス、ウォレント、エクストリーム等、様々なアレンジで楽しく聴けます！！こんなサントラあったなんて。最高です！！
