From the Mouth of the Cave is the debut album from the twenty-one member all-girl choir who were founded in London by Deborah Coughlin in 2008. It's a percussion-heavy and eclectic release which sees the collective visiting territory usually occupied by revered eccentrics such as Kate Bush and Bjork. The hip-hop-tinged single, "Army of Birds" is included.

2008年にプロデューサーDeborah Coughlinのアイデアで誕生した女性コーラス・グループ。"合唱団のようなものを作ろうとしたんじゃなくて、フットボールのスタジアムのようなもの、何かパワーをもらえるものを作りたかったの"とプロデューサーのDeborah Coughlinは語る。オーディションとリハーサルを繰り返しながら、ロンドンを拠点に積極的なギグ活動を展開したGaggleは、2009年にNME誌のTop 50 Innovatorsに選ばれ、例年カムデン地区で開催されているショーケース・イヴェントCamden CrawlでBest New Band賞を獲得。その後、1969年のRoyal Albert Hallで英国中から選抜された1000人の女性が出演したカルト的なミュージカル『The Brilliant and the Dark』の再演を実現。全ヨーロッパ公演を大成功させ、2011年には本家のRoyal ALbert Hallで42年ぶりに公演を行った。そして21012年3月4日の"International Women's Day(国際女性の日)"にはロンドンのテムズ川周辺に1000人の女性を集めたイヴェントを開催するなど、今、ロンドンの女性にとって最も気になる存在である。待望のデビュー作となる本作では、Deborah Coughlinとその音楽パートナーであるSimon Dempseyによる楽曲がずらりと並び、万華鏡あるいはシャグリラ感覚のアルバム・ジャケットそのままに、ショー・アップされたエンターテインメント・アルバムとなることは必至。
