2010年のUSローファイ・サーフロック・ブームを牽引した米カリフォルニア発の男女2人組デュオ、ベスト・コーストが待望の2ndアルバムをリリース!7インチ・シングルは即完売し、NMEが選ぶ「ベスト・ニュー・バンド2010」にも選出、早耳リスナーを唸らせ各メディアが我先にと取り上げ、2010年満を持して『クレイジー・フォー・ユー』でデビュー、一躍USサーフロック・ブームの主役に躍り出た男女デュオ“ベスト・コースト"。日本でも一躍人気者となり、翌年3月にはザ・モーニング・ベンダーズとの来日公演をソールド・アウト。東日本大震災によりイベントは中止になるも、同年フジロック'11で初来日を果たし、ファンを熱狂させた。2年ぶり2枚目となる本作は、プロデュースをカニエ・ウエストやフィオナ・アップルを手掛けたポップ界の敏腕ジョン・ブリオンが担当。バンド曰く、よりパーソナルでエモーショナルな仕上がりだという本作と共に、進化を遂げたベスト・コーストが2012年を席捲する!

新世代ビーチ・ポップの旗手、ベサニー・コンセンティーノ率いるベスト・コーストが、2年ぶりとなる新作で前作からの成長を軽やかにアピール。といっても、60s風のサーフ・ギター・サウンドに大きな変化があるわけではないが、曲によってはストリングスを使うなど、演奏に奥行きを加えたアレンジやエキゾティック風味の楽曲が、これまでにない深い味わいを印象付ける。プロデューサーはジョン・ブライオン。フィオナ・アップルやルーファス・ウェインライトをはじめ、映画音楽も多数手掛けてきたジョンのサジェスチョンも大きかったに違いない。ベサニー嬢のアンニュイな歌声はビーチ・パーティーが終ってしまった寂しさを感じさせるものの、そこからまた新しい一日が始まることも連想させてくれる。
