ジョニー・キャッシュのブートレグ・シリーズ第4弾は、ゴスペルを軸にした精神性あふれる選曲。2003年の没後も世代を超え、さらにフォーク、カントリー、ロックといったジャンルを超えて幅広いファンから支持され続けているジョニー・キャッシュ。ロックの反骨もカントリーの哀愁も歌い上げるジョニー・キャッシュとはいえ、もしもこの世にゴスペルが無かったら歌を歌っていなかったかもしれないと言われる。様々な世界観を歌うジョニー・キャッシュも、その根幹にあったのは率直な人間愛であり、またある時は謙虚な信仰であった。本作ではゴスペルを中心とした、ジョニー・キャッシュが唄った精神性あふれる選曲で、リリースされることの無かった作品を含むレアな3枚のアルバムと未発表音源で構成。ディスク1のM1からM20は1979年にリリースされたレア・アルバム『A Believer Sings The Truth』、M21からM24は1984年のアルバム『I Believe...』からの収録。M25は同時期に録音された未発表音源。ディスク2のM1からM12はタイトルも決まっていない未発表アルバムからの収録でうち10曲が未発表音源、M13からM22はレア・アルバム『Johnny Cash - Gospel Singer』を収録。M23からM26は『Johnny Cash - Gospel Singer』の未発表音源となっている。全51曲収録のうち15曲は未発表音源という豪華な内容。
