親しみやすく、明晰な作風で知られるイギリスの作曲家ジョナサン・ダヴ（1959-）。とりわけ彼の合唱作品はどれも魅力的であり、イギリスのみならず世界中で人気を博しています。ここでは、彼の母親の記憶に捧げられたという「年月の移ろい」を中心とした、美しいハーモニーを聴くことができます。7つの曲からなる「年月の移ろい」はW.ブレイク、E.ディキンソン、G.ピールら5人の詩人のテキストを使い、時には妖艶さも感じさせながら、大地と季節を礼賛しています。この曲集とメゾ・ソプラノのソロで歌われる「わが愛はわが内に」以外は全て無伴奏合唱で歌われ、時にはユーモラスに、また時には荘厳に、声の持つ美しさと可能性を無限まで追求します。
