The seven-disc Stanley Clarke anthology, The Complete 1970s Epic Albums Collection, brings together all six of the influential jazz bassist's original albums for Epic. Included here: 1974's Stanley Clarke, 1975's Journey to Love, 1976's School Days, 1978's Modern Man, 1979's I Wanna Play for You, as well as the 1991 concert compilation Live (1976-1977). スタンリー・クラークが1974年から1979年にNemperor/Epicで録音したアルバムをコンパイルした7枚組紙ジャケ・ボックス・セット。収録アルバムは『Stanley Clarke』、『Journey To Love』、『School Days』、『Modern Man』、『I Wanna Play for You』(2CD)、『Live 1976-1977』というまさにヒット作揃いの6タイトル。1974年の『Stanley Clarke』は、トニー・ウィリアムス(ds)、ビル・コナーズ(g)、ヤン・ハマー(keys)、アイアート・モレイラ(perc)など強力なメンバーが参加、続く1975年の『Journey to Love』、1976年『School Days』では、チック・コリア、ジョージ・デューク、ジョン・マクラフリン、デイヴィッド・サンシャス、レニー・ホワイト、スティーヴ・ガッド、さらにゲストでジェフ・ベックと、より強力なメンバーによる録音となっている。廃盤で入手しにくくなっていた『Live 1976-1977』の収録も見逃せない。
