Django Django（ジャンゴ・ジャンゴ）は、イースト・ロンドンを拠点に活躍する男性4人組。その中心となるのは、ドラマーでありプロデューサーでもあるDavid MacLean（因みにDavidの兄は、THE BETA BAND、THE ALIENSで活動するJohn Maclean）。エディンバラのアートスクールで出会い、バンドを結成した彼らはロンドンに拠点を移した後、2009年に両A面シングル「Storm/Love's Dart」をリリース。彼らのエレクトリックでサイケデリック、かつ生楽器のダイナミズムを取り入れたアート・ロック・サウンドは既にそのシングルから片鱗を窺わせている。そんな彼らが満を持してリリースするデビュー作『Django Django』は、牧歌的でビーチボーイズを彷彿させるおオープニング・トラック「Hail Bop」そしてボ・ディドリー的ビート・ギターを取り入れた「Life a Beach」、さらにシングルの「Default」はまるでメキシコの銃工場で目覚めた時のようなサウンドであり、もう一方のシングル候補曲「Waveforms」は今はすっかり見なくなったThe Glitter Bandの「Rock And Roll Part 2」を思い起こさせる。あきれるぐらいに幅広く多彩なサウンドスタイルを持ち味とするDjango Django!。クリエイティヴィティと実験性、そして新たなサウンドを求めてベッドルームから世界に飛び出す時が来た！

ベータ・バンドの元フロントマンを兄に持つデイヴ・マクレーンを中心に結成されたロンドンの4人組が、メトロノミーも在籍するフランスのビコーズよりアルバム・デビュー! アニコレ～MGMT以降のUSインディーからの影響をモロ出ししたサイケデリック・ポップに、!!!を彷彿とさせるトライバルなディスコ・ロックのエッセンスをプラスし、それをバトルス級の超絶テク(特にデイヴのズンドコ・ドラムがヤバイ!)でもって披露していく……といった、とにかく物凄いブツなのです。なかには、タランティーノ映画で使用されていても違和感ゼロの60sサーフ・ガレージ風なトラックもあって、アンドリュー・ウェザーオール番長がヘヴィー・プレイしている事実も頷けますね。これは本気でカッコイイ!
