One of the most attention-grabbing Spanish female artists of recent times, Bebe remains fiercely idiosyncratic on her third album, Un Pokito de Rocanrol. Recorded in Paris with French producer Renaud Letang (Feist, Jane Birkin, Vampire Weekend, Gonzales), the album restlessly alternates between sunny and oppressive minimalist grooves, and indiscriminately flirts with trip-hop and electronica. Lead single "K.I.E.R.E.M.E." is perhaps one of the less inspired moments of this collection of vibrant, percussive tracks highlighted by Bebe's trademark delivery, such as the sexy R&B "Mi Guapo,'' the punkish "Compra/Paga,'' and the ballad "Sabras." ~ Mariano Prunes
