アイリッシュ・ミュージック界の最高峰バンドThe Chieftains の結成50周年記念アルバムは、T. Bone Burnette のプロデュースによるロック、カントリー、フォーク界の要注目若手アーティストとの超豪華コラボレーション・アルバム！本作ではBon Iver、The Decemberists、The Low Anthem などのインディ・ロック勢やThe Civil Wars、Pistol Annies、Carolina Chocolate Drops、Punch Brothers といったカントリー/グラスルーツ勢、そして Imelda May、Lisa Hannigan、Paolo Nutini などのアイリッシュ/スコティッシュ・フォーク勢という、現在活躍中の若手アーティスト/バンドをゲストに迎え、Bob Dylan、The Kingston Trioなどをはじめとするアイリッシュ/フォーク/ブルーグラス/アパラチアン・ミュージックの名曲の数々を共演するという夢のコラボレーションを実現。さらには、2011年に地球軌道上を回る米スペース・シャトルからのライヴ中継でアメリカおよびケルト圏で大きな話題をさらった、女性飛行士Cady Coleman のティン・ホイッスル（アイルランド伝統の笛）の演奏を使用した1曲もあるなど、50年のキャリアを重ねた上でなおその普遍的なサウンドと斬新なアイデアの融合に挑戦しThe Chieftains の現在進行形を見せつけた意欲作！また、年齢の問題でバンドを離れたオリジナル・メンバーが再び結集して録音された1曲もあるのはオールド・ファンにとっても非常に嬉しいところ。
