Hip-O Select's solo-Smokey reissue campaign shifts into the '80s with its sixth volume, which combines the Tamla releases Warm Thoughts (1980) and Being with You (1981). The albums were Smokey's slickest and most relaxed albums to that point -- certainly not among his best work overall, but they do boast major R&B chart hits in the form of the Top Five "Let Me Be the Clock" and the number one "Being with You." As with the preceding five volumes, there are high-quality reproductions of the original sleeves, along with photos and liner notes. This time, there are only two bonus tracks: Spanish and Spanish-English versions of "Being with You." ~ Andy Kellman
