Count ことVarg Vikernes のソロ・プロジェクト、ノルウェージャン・ブラックメタル・シーンにおける最重要バンドBURZUMの注目作。1st アルバム「Burzum」(1991年) と2nd アルバム「Det som engangvar」(1993年) に収録されている楽曲を新たに再録しコンパイルしたアルバム「From The Depths of Darkness」を発表。本人曰く「当時のレコーディングで意図するも表現しきれなかったサウンドを今回の再録で改めて表現した」とのこと。MAYHEMのギタリストEuronymousを刺殺した罪で16年間の獄中生活を送り仮出所後は「Bules」(2010年) 、「Fallen」(2011年) を短いスパンでリリースするなど精力的な活動を展開するBURZUM。今後の活動にも要注目です。
