アンディ・ウォーホル監修の耽美ホラー2作のサウンドトラック。まるでドルリューのように美しい。
ともに音楽はクラウディオ・ジッツィ、そして監督はポール・モリセイ。主演もジョー・アレッサンドロ、ウド・キアと、同じチーム。

『悪魔のはらわた』(1973)
フランケンシュタイン博士は完璧な男女の人造人間を創作し、交合させようとするが、ある過ちから破滅へと向かっていく。音楽は、「フランケンシュタインのテーマ」のまるでジョルジュ・ドルリューのような優雅な美しさから、クラシカルなホラー演出的音楽までを、室内楽的シンプルさの編成でスタイリッシュに聴かせる。まさに耽美な世界。

『処女の生血』(1974)
処女の生血を求めてドラキュラ伯爵は、イタリアの田舎の屋敷にたどり着く。そこには、4人の若い娘がいたが・・・。こちらも、ピアノの導入から始まる、あまりにも美しいメインタイトルは、これまたドルリュー的な文学性に満ち、安らぎのサウンド。バイオリンの調べが陶酔させるナンバー多く、なんとアコーデオンでさらに安らぎの美学を感じさせる「AT THE INN」なるナンバーも。つまり、共に、ホラーよりも、古風で、美しさと哀しさに焦点を充てた音楽のため、ヨーロッパの美しい人間ドラマの音楽が好きな方にお薦めしたいサウンドなのです。 (C)馬場敏裕
