Italian pop rocker Roberto Vecchioni enters his fourth decade in the music industry with Canzoni E Cicogne, a decent collection of tracks that illustrate his various talents. He can go from a Peter Gabriel-esque mood piece to a blues rocker in the Bruce Cockburn vein with little effort, instead putting his all into his spoken/sung voice. Although he comes off as an Italian Lou Reed at times, most of this album is a good representation of Vecchioni's talents. Recorded live over a few nights in the spring of the previous year, this album may be the best way to first discover this Italian pop singer's music. ~ Bradley Torreano
