Seven years on from their debut EP, this mini-album by the eccentric Welsh psych-pop act Soft Hearted Scientists nods to the work of Syd Barrett, Super Furry Animals and Gorky's Zygotic Mynci. Largely acoustic guitar-based, but layered with strong melodies, fluid basslines, carefully interwoven sound effects and vintage electronics, the release closes with the sprawling ten-minute epic "Westward Leading".
