The biggest hit included on the PTG label's 14th volume of Nighttime Lovers is Gladys Knight & the Pips' "Save the Overtime (For Me)," a number one R&B single from 1983, produced by Leon Sylvers III/Solar Records associate Rickey Smith. Just beneath that is Denroy Morgan's "I'll Do Anything for You," a number nine R&B hit for the Becket label during the summer of 1981. (EPMD fans will recognize it as the basis of "Gold Digger.") Also featured on this volume, which falls in the bottom half of the Nighttime Lovers pack: decent mellow numbers from Pennye Ford ("Change Your Wicked Ways"), Champaign ("Off and On Love"), and Aurra ("Like I Like It"). ~ Andy Kellman|
