Personnel: Vicente Fernandez (vocals). Arrangers: Gustavo A. Santiago; Rigoberto Alfaro; Chucho Ferrer. A relatively soft album from Vicente Fernandez. There are lush string arrangements backing him in places and bits of semi-Mexican marimbas sprinkled throughout the album. Much of the orchestral work in the background is reminiscent of 1960s Disney movie scores, but it works decently behind Fernandez. His vocals are smooth throughout, leaving the listener with an overall evening club atmosphere. Overall, if the idea is to use orchestral arrangements of traditional Mexican folk tunes, the effect leaves the fundamentalist hungry for more traditional works and the modernist hungry for faster paced arrangements. The album isn't bad, but it's probably not the first place to look for traditional music or high-quality modern music. ~ Adam Greenberg
