聴いているとなぜか笑っちゃうんだよな～。気付けば10年選手のガレージ・パンクス、ブラック・リップスの6作目。もっとも、＜ガレージ＞という言葉から一般にイメージされるソリッドさやシャープさには大して固執していないようで、むしろ全体のタガをどこまでユルユルとポップに弛めることができるかに注力している気配がある。ファズ・ギター&ズンドコ・リズムに間抜けなコーラスという構図は60ｓのフラワー・サイケ風だけど、オルタナの時代を通過したフェイクな視点とジャンクな遊戯心が強烈なアクを熟成。マーク・ロンソンの温故知新なプロデュース・ワークも光るが、それ以上にバンドの能天気なDIY精神がサウンドの至るところから零れ落ちているもんだから、ついついニンマリしちゃうのだ。
