Buoyed by the online buzz surrounding the band's single "Pumped Up Kicks," Foster the People have crafted a batch of similarly catchy, electro-lite dance-pop that fits nicely next to such contemporaries as MGMT and Phoenix. To these ends you get the aforementioned anthem "Pumped Up Kicks," as well as the hypnotic disco hop track "Call It What You Want." Equally compelling are such deep cuts as the yearning, melancholy ballad "I Would Do Anything for You" and the foot stomping arcade game-sounding anthem "Houdini." LAからまたまた活きの良いバンドがアルバム・デビューです! ピーター・ビヨーン&ジョンのアレに続く口笛ソングの定番となりそうな"Pumped Up Kicks"を筆頭に、キャッチーでユルユルなシンセ・ポップ曲が満載で、程良い甘さの歌声とシャッフル・ビートが身体のバイオリズムにフィット! 心地良く躍らせてくれるのです。＜MGMT以降＞みたいに括られているインディートロニカ好きは迷わずチェックしましょう!

特大アンセム“PUMPED UP KICKS”はしょっちゅうフロアで耳にしていたものの、しっかり聴かぬまま観たフジロックのステージが最高すぎて速攻買いました。迂闊でした、もっと早く買うべきでした。聴き始めから、あの曲もこの曲もFOSTER THE PEOPLEだったのね…というキラーチューンばっかり！②は別格として、③とか⑦とか特にグッド！
