ロジャー・ウォーターズがあの歴史的なイベントから20年経た2011年、“THE WALL LIVE TOUR DATES 2011”を決行！本作はそのツアーと同時にリリースされる音源と映像をパッケージにしたデラックス・エディション。1990年7月21日、ベルリンの壁崩壊のわずか8ヶ月後ロジャー・ウォーターズの呼びかけにより、歴史に残るロック・イベントが行われた。Bryan Adams、Cyndi Lauper、Van Morrison、Joni Mitchell、Sinead O’connor、Scorpions等超豪華なゲストの力を借り、Pink Flyodの歴史的名盤『The Wall』を完全再現。会場にはチケットを購入者が25万人、門を開けて観れるようにし更に10万人が集結した。そのイベント開催20周年を記念してリリースされるのが、本作“2011 Tour Edition”。CD2枚にライヴ、DVDにライヴとボーナス映像を収録。

Recorded live in 1989 at the former site of the Berlin Wall, Roger Waters' introspective masterpiece celebrates the Cold War's very public end with a star-studded cast of musicians and actors. The Scorpions kick things off with a majestic, Queen-like version of "In the Flesh." Waters and Ute Lemper duet on "The Thin Ice," which leads into the menacing "Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 1." Other highlights include Sinead O'Connor's stirring rendition of "Mother," backed by the Band, and Van Morrison's soulful take on "Comfortably Numb." The dour ringmaster enhances the entire performance by casting Tim Curry, Albert Finney, Marianne Faithfull, and others in the ending trial sequence, and bringing the entire company together for an encore of "The Tide Is Turning."|
