From the mind behind Speedy J, Vrs-Mbnt-Pcs is a seven-track collection of beautiful, chiming ambience with nothing more than an occasional bass tone for harmony and faraway synthesizer to accompany the slowly building melancholia. Most tracks are quite similar to each other, though the comparatively brief "Flm" (just like in the title, fill in the missing vowel) is rather more cinematic, reminiscent of Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works II. Though Paap's best known for his experimental techno productions, he displays considerable talents here, creating space music tracks that stand alongside masters like Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze. ~ John Bush
