OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN AND FRIENDS: A CELEBRATION IN SONG is a duets album with a difference: far from being simply an attempt to reignite the now largely retired pop star's career, this is a benefit record for Newton-John's pet project, the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia. The 12 songs here are new recordings, although "Find A Little Faith" (with Cliff Richard) and "The Heart Knows" (with Barry Gibb) find Newton-John back with two of her best known collaborators. Other collaborators include fellow Australian Keith Urban on the twangy "Sunburned Country," young country star Delta Goodrem, alternative rock singer-songwriter Jann Arden, and 1980s pop star Richard Marx.
