「サムソンとデリラ」の古典的名盤。ルッショーニを知らずしてサムソンを語れず！
仏Pathe（＝EMI）録音。「サムソンとデリラ」の古典的名盤です。ジョゼ・ルッショーニ（1903-1978）はコルシカ出身のテノールで、1930，40年代にフランスを中心に大活躍。「カルメン」のジョゼはオペラコミーク劇場で500回も歌ったといわれます。この「サムソン」は彼の代表的録音。エレヌ・ブヴィエ（1905－1978）は、1930年代から1960年代まで長く活躍したフランスのメッゾソプラノ。フランスとアルゼンチンで活躍しました。ポール・カバネル（1891-1958）はこの時代のフランスを代表するバスバリトンで、デゾルミエールが指揮したドビュッシー「ペレアスとメリザンド」でアルケルを歌っています。ルイ・フレスティエ（1892-1976））は、オペラコミーク、オペラ座、メトロポリタン歌劇場で活躍した優れた指揮者でしたが、戦後は早々にパリ音楽院の教授に収まって第一線から退いてしまったため、国際的な知名度が広がりませんでした。この録音ではフーレスティの実力がしっかり捉えられています。
