ベームが1956年にベルリン・フィルとレコーディングを行ったレーガーの「モーツアルトの主題による変奏曲とフーガOp.132」が、ケンペン＆ベルリン・フィルの「ヒラーの主題による変奏曲とフーガOp.100」とのカップリングでギルド・ヒストリカルから登場！ 戦後のレーガー録音の中でも特に重要とも言えるベームとケンペンの演奏は、カールスルーエに設立されたマックス・レーガー研究所（Max-Reger-Institut）に保管されていたコレクションからの復刻。ベーム、ケンペンが指揮する1950年代のベルリン・フィルの演奏で聴く“変奏曲とフーガ”の鬼、マックス・レーガーの管弦楽作品集。この渋くも魅力的なプログラムが興味をそそります。
