生き生きとしたメロディにあふれたショスタコーヴィチのバレエ音楽
ソヴィエト映画音楽のパイオニアとして、1929年から71年の間に30もの作品を残したショスタコーヴィチ。第4弾にあたる当盤には、2つのバレエ音楽を収録。ショスタコーヴィチの多くの作品（黄金時代、ボルト、楽しい小川など）を編集・出版したレヴォン・アトヴミャーンがショスタコーヴィチの音楽を再編集し、1962年にマールイ劇場でボヤルスキーの振付で初演された《お嬢さんとならず者》は、特徴的なリズムと生き生きとしたメロディが多くちりばめられた楽しい作品。そしてもう1曲、《バレエ組曲》はショスタコーヴィチの典型的な作風を集約したこの分野の最高傑作の一つに数えられています。
