One of the smart inclusions on Vol. 6 of the PTG label's Nighttime Lovers series was Real to Reel's "Love Me Like This," a Top 40 R&B single produced by the great Leon Sylvers III. The group's other 1983 single for Arista, "Can You Treat Me Like She Does" -- written by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and produced by that duo beside Sylvers (that's three geniuses, one record) -- is a highlight on the series' 12th volume. It overshadows the majority of the other selections here, which include minor hits and misses from the likes of Michael Henderson, Steve Shelto, Fantasy, and Final Edition, whose 1980 single "Betcha Can't Love Just One (Can't Keep Running Away)" has a touch of contemporaneous Whispers to it.
